India records 12,729 new Covid cases, 221 deaths

New Delhi: India registered 12,729 fresh Covid cases and 221 fatalities in the last 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry said today.

With this, the cumulative death toll across the country has reached 4,49,873.

The country’s active cases now stand at 1,48,922, the lowest since March 2020.

Nearly 12,165 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of recoveries to 3,37,24,959, it said.

Yesterday, the country recorded 12,885 new Covid-19 cases and 461 deaths in 24 hours.

The country registered 11,903 fresh Covid cases and 311 fatalities, a day earlier.

The country registered 10,423 Covid cases and 443 Covid deaths in 24 hours, on Tuesday.

During the previous 24 hours, 12,514 new cases and 251 deaths were reported from across the country.

On Sunday, the country recorded 12,830 fresh Covid cases and 446 fatalities in 24 hours.

A day prior to that, 14,313 fresh COVID-19 cases and 549 fatalities were reported in 24 hours.
