India‘s single-day Covid cases mount to 22,775, Omicron to 1431

New Delhi: India saw an increase in fresh Covid cases in the last 24 hours, with 22,775 Covid cases and 1431 Omicron cases being registered across the country.

The country registered 406 fatalities in the last 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health.

With this, the country’s active cases now stand at 1,04,781, while the cumulative death toll has gone up to 4,81,486.

Around 8,949 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours, taking the cumulative tally of recovered patients to 3,42,75,312, the Ministry said.

The vaccination figure has reached 1,45,16,24,150 across the country with inoculating 58,11,487 beneficiaries in the last 24 hours, it said.

Maharashtra has recorded the highest number of Omicron cases followed by Delhi, it said.

The total number of Omicron cases in Maharashtra has risen to 454 and Delhi to 351.

Yesterday, the country reported 16,764 Covid cases and 220 fatalities in 24 hours.

A day prior to that, the country reported 13,154 fresh Covid cases and 268 Omicron variant cases in 24 hours.

The country reported 9,195 new Covid cases and 302 fatalities in 24 hours on Wednesday.

During the previous 24 hours, the country reported 6,358 fresh Covid cases and 293 deaths.

The country reported 6,531 fresh Covid cases and 315 fatalities in 24 hours, a day earlier.
