Jammu: An infiltration attempt by a group of terrorists through the Poonch sector of Jammu has been foiled by the Indian Army, the Defence Ministry said tonight.

The terrorists fled back to Pakistan-occupied Kashmir on being fired by Indian troops, leaving behind ammunition and Pakistani currency, the Defence Ministry spokesman said.

“On 02 Jan 2022 at around 2030 hrs, a group of Pakistani Terrorists was observed trying to attempt infiltration through the Bhimber Gali Sector,” he said.

“Own alert troops foiled the infiltration bid, and subsequent search of the area led to recovery of ammunition and Pakistani currency left behind by the fleeing terrorists,” the spokesman said.

“Indian Army is vigilant and alert to the nefarious designs of Pakistan sponsored terrorists and determined to thwart any such attempts,” he asserted.
