New Delhi: India saw a decline in fresh Covid cases but fatalities due to pandemic recorded an increase in the last 24 hours.
According to the Union Health Ministry, 3,33,533 new cases and 525 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours.
With this, the cumulative death toll due to the Covid pandemic has reached 4,89,409.
The active cases stood at 21,87,205 and the daily positivity rate is at 17.78%, the Ministry said.
Nearly 2,59,168 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours, taking the cumulative recoveries to 3,65,60,650.
Yesterday, the government reported 3,37,704 fresh Covid cases against 3,47,254 recorded a day earlier.
The country also recorded 488 deaths during the previous 24 hours.
On Thursday, the government reported registration of 3,17,532 fresh Covid cases and 491 fatalities in a span of 24 hours.
A day prior to that, the government reported 2,82,970 Covid cases across the country in 24 hours.
On Tuesday morning, the government reported 2,38,018 cases and 441 deaths in 24 hours.
On Monday morning, the government reported 2,58,089 single day cases being registered in the last 24 hours, 13,113 less than the previous day’s figure.
The country also recorded 385 deaths during the previous 24 hours.
