New Delhi: India registered 1,67,059 fresh Covid cases and 1,192 fatalities in the last 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry said today.
With this, the cumulative death toll due to the Covid pandemic has reached 4,96,242.
The active cases stood at 17,43,059 and the daily positivity rate is at 11.69%.
Nearly 2,54,076 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours, taking the cumulative recoveries to 3,92,30,198, the Ministry said.
Yesterday, the country registered 2,09,918 new Covid cases in 24 hours.
On Sunday morning, the country registered 2,34,281 fresh Covid cases and 893 fatalities in m 24 hours.
A day prior to that, the country registered 2,35,532 fresh Covid cases and 871 fatalities in 24 hours.
A day earlier, the government reported 2,51,209 new cases and 627 deaths in preceding 24 hours.
On Thursday morning, the country registered 2,86,384 fresh Covid cases, against 2,85,914 recorded a day earlier.
The country also recorded 573 deaths during the preceding 24 hours.
