New Delhi: Terror incidents in Jammu & Kashmir have reduced over the last few years, a top security meeting chaired by Union Home Minister Amit Shah here was told today.
The meeting was told that the number of terror incidents decreased from 417 in 2018 to 229 in 2021, an official spokesman said.
At the same time, the number of security forces personnel martyred decreased from 91 in 2018 to 42 in 2021.
Shah held the review meeting on the security situation in Jammu & Kashmir with Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir Manoj Sinha, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Army Chief Gen M M Naravane and other senior officers of the Government of India.
The Union Home Minister directed that the security grid should be further strengthened to ensure zero cross-border infiltration and to eliminate terrorism.
