Srinagar: In a clear attempt to instill fear among non-locals in Kashmir, Pakistan-supported terrorists today shot and injured one more non-Kashmiri, who became the 7th such person to be targeted in the last three weeks.
Sonu Sharma, a resident of Pathankot in Punjab, was shot at in Yader in Pulwama district in South Kashmir this evening, police said.
Sharma, a driver, sustained injuries in the leg and immediately shifted to a government hospital in the district, they said.
Senior police and security officials reached the scene of the incident and a hunt was launched to track down the assailants.
Sonu became the 7th non-Kashmiri to be targeted by terrorists in the last fortnight.
All of these attacks took place in Pulwama and Shopian districts of South Kashmir.
On April 4, two non-local labourers were fired upon by terrorists in Lijora area of Pulwama district.
A day prior to that, terrorists shot and injured two labourers, Dheeraj Dutt and Surinder Singh, both hailing from Pathankot in Punjab, Nowpora Litter area of the same Pulwama district.
Earlier too, the terrorists, who are supported logistically and otherwise by Pakistan, have targeted non-Kashmiris, who are mostly labourers, street vendors or drivers.
