India has about 70,000 recognised startups, PM tells Conclave

New Delhi: India has about 70 thousand recognized startups, according to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

“India has the third-largest startup ecosystem in the world. We are also emerging as a force to be reckoned with in the world’s biggest unicorn hubs, ” he said while addressing Madhya Pradesh StartUp Conclave today via video conferencing.

“Startups in India are not confined to only one or two States but are spread over all States and small cities. India has start-ups linked to more than 50 industries, ” Prime Minister added.

Taking credit for the success, Prime Minister asserted that they recognized the power of  youth & their spirit of innovation and  focused on ‘idea, innovation & industry’.

Further, we invested in infrastructure,  reduced compliances and promoted a broader, innovative mindset, he added.
