New Delhi: India witnessed an increase in single-day Covid numbers, with 8,822 fresh cases being registered in the last 24 hours, against 6,594 cases reported during the preceding 24 hours.
At least 15 deaths due to Covid were also registered during this period, raising the total number of fatalities due to the pandemic to 5,24, 792.
The active caseload stood at 53,637.
Nearly 5,718 patients have been recovered in the last 24 hours, taking cumulative recoveries to 4,26,67,088, it said.
Yesterday, the country registered 6,594 fresh cases and 6 fatalities in 24 hours,
The country registered 8,084 cases and 10 deaths in the last 24 hours, the day before.
A day prior to that, the country reported 8,582 fresh Covid cases and 4 deaths in 24 hours.
