New Delhi : MSME sector is important for maximum exports and to strengthen it, our government has increased its budget by more than 650% in the last 8 years, Prime Minister said today.
The whole world is admiring the growth of Indian economy in which a huge role is played by our MSME sector, he added.
Prime Minister also launched the RAMP (Raising & Accelerating MSME Performance) Scheme at Udyami Bharat programme here today.
Collaborating with the World Bank, RAMP will have an investment of ₹6,000 cr. in next 5 years. MSME sector will have easy access to Finance and Big Markets through RAMP.
According to Prime Minister, for the Indian products to reach global markets and to increase Indian exports, empowering the nation’s MSME sector is the key.
The idea is to make a local Supply Chain for ‘Make in India’ which will bring down the dependency of the nation on other countries, he told the gathering.
MSME sector is one of the main pillars behind the nation’s overall development. In the Indian economy, around one-third of the contribution is from the MSME sector.
“Empowering the MSME sector is equal to empowering the entire society, ” he added.
