New Delhi: India registered 20,279 fresh Covid cases and 33 fatalities in the last 24 hours, Union Health Ministry said today.
With this, the cumulative death toll due to the pandemic since 2020 rose to 5,26,033.
The active caseload stood at 1,52,200 constituting 0.35% of the total Covid cases.
The recovery rate is currently at 98.45%, with 18,143 patients being recovered in the last 24 hours, the ministry said.

With this the cumulative recoveries across the country have reached 4,32,10,522, it said.
The country’s daily positivity rate stands at 5.29% and the weekly positivity rate is at 4.46%.
Around 201.99 crores cumulative vaccine doses have been administered so far under the nationwide vaccination drive, the ministry said.
Yesterday, the country registered 21,411 fresh cases and 67 deaths in 24 hours.
A day earlier, the government reported registration of 21,880 fresh Covid cases and 60 fatalities in the preceding 24 hours.
On Thursday, the government reported registration of 21,566 fresh cases and 45 fatalities in 24 hours.
A day prior to that, 20,557 fresh cases and 40 fatalities were reported in 24 hours.
On Tuesday morning, the government reported 15,528 fresh cases and 25 fatalities registered in the preceding 24 hours.
