Slight increase in daily Covid cases in India

New Delhi: India reported a slight increase in single-day Covid cases, with 9,062 fresh cases being registered in the last 24 hours, against 8,813 cases recorded during the previous 24 hours.

The country registered 36 fatalities in the last 24 hours, Union Health Ministry said today.

With this, the cumulative death toll due to the pandemic since 2020 rose to 5,27,134.

The country’s active caseload stood at 1,05,058 constituting 0.24% of the total Covid cases, it said.

The recovery rate is currently at 98.57%, with 15,220 patients being recovered in the last 24 hours, the ministry said.

With this the cumulative recoveries across the country have reached 4,36,54,064, it said.

The daily positivity rate stands at 2.49% and the weekly positivity rate is at 4.38%, the Ministry said.

With the administration of 25,90,557 COVID-19 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, the country’s cumulative vaccination coverage has reached 208.57 crore.

Yesterday, the country registered 8,813 fresh Covid cases and 29 fatalities in 24 hours.

A day prior to that, the country registered 14,917 fresh Covid cases in 24 hours.
