Srinagar: House owners in Kashmir have “started denying shelter” to terrorists and parents don’t feel proud if their wards join terrorism, the Jammu and Kashmir Police claimed today.

ADGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar, while giving a year-end review of security situation in the Valley, said these were “two remarkable changes observed in society” in the Valley.

He said the parents, istead of feeling proud if their wards join terrorism, “appeal them to return back, curse terrorists openly & work with JKP for the return of their wards.”

On Law & Order (L&O) front, the ADGP said, “We have achieved 100% success in peace & stability.”

From 2897 cases of L&O incidents in 2016 to 26 minor cases in 2022, he added.

“No civilian lost life in firing while handling L&O problems in last more than 3 years,” Kumar said.

“No hartal, no street violence, no stone pelting incident especially at the encounter sites, no internet shutdown, no funeral procession of killed terrorists, no glamourization of terrorists, have benefited all the sections of society,” the ADGP said.
