Bannu (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa): Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), which is fighting against Pakistani atrocities, today said it killed 2 police officers and injured 3 personnel of the paramilitary Frontier Corps (FC) in two separate attacks in Bannu Province.
“The Mujahideen of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, in an ambush in Pahar Khel area of Lakki Marwat District of Bannu Province, killed 2 officers named Younis Khan and Ismatullah and seized a Kalashnikov rifle from them,” the outfit’s spokesperson Muhammad Khorasani said in a statement.
“The said officials were apparently police officers but were working for secret agencies (of Pakistan),” he added.
The TTP Mujahideen also carried out an attack on an FC post in Spinwam Tehsil of North Waziristan in Bannu Province, injuring 3 personnel of the paramilitary force, the spokesperson said.

TTP has intensified attacks on Pakistani forces in the recent weeks after ending a ceasefire in November last, saying the Pakistani establishment has been carrying out atrocities against the Pashtuns in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa which was not acceptable.
In view of the spike in attacks by the TTP, Pakistan is on the edge, with the government threatening to launch an all-out offensive against the outfit.
The Pakistan government has also talked about the possibility of carrying out attacks in Afghanistan, alleging that TTP cadres were getting shelter in the Taliban-ruled country.
The Taliban regime of Afghanistan has outrightly rejected the allegations and warned about consequences if the Pakistani forces violated Afghanistan’s sovereignty.
