Govt releases Rs 836.64 Cr under PMDP for health projects in J&K

Srinagar (NVI): Centre today released Rs 836.64 crore against the sanctioned allocation of Rs 900 crore for the Jammu and Kashmir’s development in the health sector under Prime Minister’s Development Programme (PMDP).

Financial Commissioner of Health and Medical Education, Atal Dulloo while reviewing the work being undertaken in PMDP initiative in the health sector of J&K informed that out of total 144 ongoing and new health projects approved under this financial assistance programme, 48 projects have been completed and are made functional shortly while rest of 96 projects have been targeted for completion during the current financial year, 2019-20 and next financial year 2020-21.

In the meeting, he also directed the executing agencies to ensure that all these projects are completed within the set deadline, stating, “The projects being undertaken at District hospitals of Anantnag, Baramulla, Shopian, Reasi, Kishtwar, Kulgam, Ganderbal, Sub-district hospital, Sopore for launching of DNB courses should be given top priority and completed shortly.”

The meeting was attended by the General Manager of Jammu and Kashmir Project Construction Corporation (JKPCC), Chief Engineer, R&B Jammu and Kashmir along with other senior officers of the department.
