Srinagar,July 12(NVI): In Srinagar, young volunteers are distributing drinking water to commuters and pedestrians to help them cope with the intense heat during Muharram.
Over 100 youths, organized by a local NGO, are working in rotations to keep this initiative running smoothly for the entire 14 days of Muharram. “We’ve been doing this for three years to support our community,” shared a volunteer.
The NGO behind this effort also addresses various social issues, including blood donation and education. “We are always ready to help, whether it’s through blood donation or education,” said another volunteer. The community has responded positively, expressing gratitude for this timely support.
The dedication of these volunteers reflects the values of Muharram, emphasizing sacrifice and selflessness.
Their continued efforts during this period bring much-needed relief and foster a sense of unity and compassion in the community.
