Pakistan: TTP says it killed 91 Pakistani securitymen, injured 124 in July

Peshawar: Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) today said it killed 91 Pakistani military and police personnel and injured 124 in 146 attacks during the month of July.

The casualties and injuries caused, as well as the total number of operations, by TTP were higher in July than the previous month.

Issuing a detailed report of its activities in the month of July, TTP spokesman Muhammad Khurasani said the Pakistan Army suffered the maximum number of casualties of 87 (both killed and injured), while the Police and Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) had 77 killed and injured.

The paramilitary force Frontier Corps had 38 killed and injured while the secret agencies had 13 killed and injured.

At least 10 security personnel were arrested by the TTP, the spokesman said.

About the places of operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province, he said 51 were carried out in Dera Ismail Khan district, 32 in Bannu district, 24 in Peshawar, 17 in Malakand, 7 in Mardan and 6 in Kohat district.

At least 4 operations were carried out in Gilgit-Baltistan Province, 3 in Balochistan and 1 in Karachi in Sindh Province.

The nature of operations included 54 Sniper/Laser Attacks, 33 Guerrilla attacks, 26 counterattacks, 17 Ambush attacks, 13 Grenade-lobbing/Bombings and 3 targeted attacks.

These operations resulted in the destruction of 4 military posts, 9 military vehicles, 32 CCTV cameras, 1 drone camera, 1 motorcycle and 1 Solar System.

The TTP seized 5 Kalashnikov rifles, 4 magazines, 2 cars, 1 motorcycle, 1 pistol and hundreds of bullets and various military equipment, he said.

In the month of June, the TTP killed 81 Pakistani military and paramilitary personnel and injured 116 in 96 operations in various parts of the country.
