Srinagar, Aug 16 (NVI): National Conference Vice president & Former CM Omar Abdullah on Friday said that his party was ready to fight and will start election campaign soon. His statement came soon after the Election Commission of India (ECI) announced three-phase elections in J&K from September 18,
Addressing a press conference at his Gupkar residence in Srinagar, Omar said: “Der aaye durust aaye (better late than never’. The Election Commission has announced the dates of the elections in three phases.
The schedule will be over quickly. After 1987-1988, this is the first time when the elections in J&K are being conducted in such a small number of phases. National Conference was ready for this day. We will begin our election campaign soon…”
About the transfers in police and the administration, Omar said that NC will write to ECI and urge the Commission to take note of the random transfers ordered since Friday morning in J&K. (News Vibes of India)
