Srinagar, Aug 18 (NVI):- Choudhary Zulfikar Ali, a prominent politician, gujjar leader and former minister in Jammu and Kashmir, joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday.
On why he joined the saffron party, he said that the policies and schemes of the BJP have reached even the last person in the queue. He further added that peace has been restored in J&K, stone pelting has ended, the common man feels more secure, and the tourism industry has grown in the state.
Zulfikar, who has previously been associated with various political parties including the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has held significant positions such as Cabinet Minister for multiple departments including Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, and Tribal Affairs.
He was also a founding member of the Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party (JKAP), where he served as Vice President.
His move to the BJP is expected to strengthen the party’s presence in the region. Zulfikar hails from Rajouri and has strong footing in Pir Panjal region.
Zulfikar was welcomed into the party by Union minister and election in charge G K Reddy along with several senior members of the party including Ravinder Raina, Jitendra Singh, Tarun Chugh etc. (News Vibes of India)
