Srinagar, Aug 27 (NVI): Day after materializing the alliance deal with Indian National Congress, the Jammu and National Conference Vice President Omar Abdullah said on Tuesday that the party alongside its ally will aim to fight like a consolidated front against Bharatiya Janata Party.
Omar, talking to media persons said that “Today is the last day to file nominations for the first phase. We have given our manifesto and roadmap. We have decided on a seat-sharing agreement with Congress.”
“We aim to fight against the BJP like a consolidated front so that the possibility of success increases further.”
“We regret that in the seat-sharing some people were left out who wanted to contest in these elections,” Omar said.
It is pertinent to mention here that as per the seat-sharing plan Jammu and Kashmir National Conference will contest 51 of 90 seats and Congress 32, with one seat each to CPI(M) and Panthers’ Party. The two main alliance partners will also have a “friendly contest” on five seats. (News Vibes of India)
