New Delhi (NVI): Mild rains in the morning slightly improved the air quality in Delhi-NCR today but the AQI remained in the moderate category at 109 at 8 am.
According to the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting and Research (SAFAR), the AQI is likely to remain in the “moderate” category throughout the day but is likely to dip to the “poor” category on Friday.
Meanwhile, the Indian Meteorological Department (ID) has forecast that under the influence of Western Disturbance, thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and hailstorms are very likely in isolated places over Delhi, Punjab and Haryana in the next 24 hours..
There were mild rains in several parts of Delhi-NCR this morning, which brought down the mercury and pollution levels in the region. The air quality improved to ‘Moderate’ category on Wednesday for the first time in a long time. And the improvement trend continued today.
Most areas in Haryana and Punjab recorded “satisfactory” or “good” air quality, the first time in the last two months.
