Jammu, Sep 6 (NVI): Unveiling the party’s manifesto for J&K that promises terror free and peaceful UT, Union Home Minister Amit Shah today said that BJP has decided to release a white paper on 40,000 killings that have taken place since past over 30 years.
“We have decided to release a white paper on the 40,000 killings that have taken place in J&K in the past over three decades and fix the responsibility as well post polls,” Shah said addressing a press conference in Jammu where he later rolled the party’s election manifesto for J&K as well.
He said Article 370 has gone forever and those talking about its return are day-dreaming. “This Article won’t come again,” Shah said. He was flanked by top BJP leaders that include Union Minister GK Reddy, MoS in PMO Dr Jitender Singh, MP Jugal Kishore, J&K Manifesto Committee incharge Dr Nirmal Singh and others.
Lashing out at the National Conference for releasing a pro-separatist manifesto, Shah said that he has gone through the agenda of the NC. “It promises restoration of Article 370 which is not possible. It talks about release of prisoners who were responsible for promoting terrorism. It also talks about restoring the two flags in J&K and advocates release of stone pelters,” the Union Home Minister said, adding that “I want to ask Rahul Gandhi, whether he has supported NC agenda. Does he want to bring back two flags to J&K? Does he support this in full? He must explain.”
Taking a dig at NC further, Shah said that the party’s manifesto states that reservation of Gujjars and Bakerwals will be reversed. “Let me make it clear, no power on earth can roll back the reservation for Gujjars and Bakerwals,” he said.
Replying to a query about restoration of Statehood in J&K, he said when something has been already promised by him where the demand comes. “I have stated on the floor of the house that Statehood will be restored after polls at an appropriate time. Why demanding something that has been accepted by me,” he said.
On talks with Pakistan, Shah said that there can be no talks and trade, unless Pakistan shuns terrorism. Asked whether BJP is open for an alliance, the Union Home Minister said that the party has kept the options open but one thing was sure that National Conference, PDP and the Congress won’t come to power. “We have nothing to do with these parties. Other options are open,” he said.
Explaining the manifesto, he said BJP promises terror free and peaceful J&K. He also stated that if voted to power in J&K, the party will form a Rehabilitation Commission for Kashmiri Pandits. He also sitting a stipend of Rs 18,000 for women sitting idle at home. He also said that BJP will ensure five lakh jobs to jobless youth in J&K besides promoting Pir Panchal as the tourist hub of J&K. (News Vibes of India)
