Holiday announced for Jammu Schools, Colleges on Sep 30 to facilitate youth voters, their parents

Srinagar, Sep 26(NVI): In a bid to encourage voter participation, the Jammu administration has declared a holiday on 30th September 2024 for all Government and Private Schools and Colleges in District Jammu.

“This decision comes ahead of the General Elections to the J&K Legislative Assembly, scheduled for 1st October 2024,” an order issued by the office of the district election officer District Magistrate/Deputy Commissioner, Jammu reads.

“The holiday aims to facilitate youth voters and their parents in casting their votes at their native places, ensuring they can participate in the electoral process without hindrance. Authorities have emphasized the importance of voter turnout, particularly among the youth, in shaping the future of the region,” it reads.

Parents and students have welcomed this initiative, recognizing the significance of exercising their democratic rights. As the election day approaches, the administration urges all eligible voters to make their voices heard. (News Vibes of India)
