Srinagar, Oct 4 (NVI):Two terrorists have been killed as the army and police foiled an infiltration bid along the LoC in Gugaldhar area of North Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
Defence sources said late on Friday night, a suspicious movement was observed by the army and police after which a joint operation was launched.
“A heavy exchange of fire took place from both sides,” they said, adding that in the ensuing gunfight two terrorists were killed, ” they said.
A police officer told NVI that two bodies if terrorists have been spotted.
Earlier, the army wrote on X, that on October 4, based on an intelligence about infiltration attempt, a joint operation by the #IndianArmy and @JmuKmrPolice was launched at Gugaldhar, Kupwara. “Alert troops spotted suspicious activity and challenged, leading to exchange of firing with terrorists. Vigilant troops carried out effective fire, ” the army said, adding that the operation is in progress.
They said, that, “Alert troops are combing the area to rule out presence more terrorists in the area, ” they said(News Vibes of India)
