Missing soldier found killed in South Kashmir’s Kokernag

Srinagar, Oct 9 (NVI) An Indian Army soldier who went missing last night during a counter-terror operation was found killed today in a forest area of Kokernag in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

Officials said the body of the missing Territorial Army soldier has been recovered from the woods of Kazwan in Kokernag where he had gone missing.

The body has bullet wounds and sharp edge injuries, indicating that he has been killed suspectedly by terrorists.

Earlier, the Army stated in a post on ‘X’ that the operation was launched yesterday by the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and other agencies based on intelligence inputs.

“Based on intelligence inputs, a joint counter-terrorism operation was launched by the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and other agencies in the Kazwan Forest area of Kokernag on October 8, 2024,” the army said adding that a TA soldier went missing in the operation.(News Vibes of India)
