Srinagar, Oct 21 (NVI): Jammu and Kashmir’s former Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, condemned the terror attack in Gagangir, Ganderbal district, where seven people, including a doctor, were killed.
Speaking to reporters, Abdullah described the incident as a major terror attack in the region and vowed that authorities would “defeat the elements” responsible for the attack soon.
“This attack is a tragic reminder of the challenges we continue to face in the region,” Abdullah said. “We will defeat the forces behind this act of violence. Nothing will be achieved by such senseless attacks.” He further stressed that the perpetrators aimed to create a perception of insecurity in Jammu and Kashmir, but the security forces, including the army and police, must remain vigilant and steadfast in the face of such threats.
Abdullah revealed that he had spoken with the Director General of Police (DGP) earlier in the day, urging enhanced security measures to protect vulnerable areas and prevent further attacks. He said that security forces must remain proactive in countering these terrorist activities.—(News Vibes of India)
