Srinagar, Nov04(NVI): BJP legislator and Leader of the Opposition, Sunil Sharma, criticised MLA Waheed Parra for moving a resolution on restoring Article 370, describing the PDP as a “cesspool of poison” committed to spreading negativity, much like Parra’s behavior in the assembly.
“PDP is a cesspool of poison, and their mission is to spread negativity, just as Parra did in the assembly today. They are opposed to development and peace in Kashmir,” he stated while speaking to the media.
“BJP’s 28 representatives in the J&K assembly will not permit this; we will stand against those spreading negativity. J&K is progressing, and peace is here,” he said, adding that Article 370 was a long test match for the BJP, which it won on August 5, 2019.
“BJP MLAs will always oppose any discussions regarding integrity in J&K,” he stated.
People’s Democratic Party (PDP) legislator Waheed-ur-Rehmaan Parra introduced a resolution against the 2019 decision by the Centre to abrogate J&K’s special constitutional status during the first session of the J&K Assembly.
“Like the Constituent Assembly of Sheikh Abdullah’s time, this Assembly is a platform to negotiate our relationship. I request that a resolution be passed in the House. I, on behalf of my party, bring a resolution to oppose the J&K Reorganisation Act and for the restoration of Article 370,” Parra has said.
The PDP legislator’s proposal led to disruptions in the House, with BJP legislators demanding the resolution be rejected. (News Vibes of India)
