Delhi air “very poor”, no respite till Friday

New Delhi (NVI):The air quality in Delhi remained in the “very poor” category today with people getting no respite for the next three days.

According to System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting And Research (SAFAR), “The Air Quality Index” (AQI) is likely to stay at the very poor category for today and marginally deteriorate and in the lower end of the very poor category for tomorrow”.

It has predicted that the air quality will remain in the “very poor” category till Friday.

The affected areas are Dhirpur with PM2.5 of 307, Delhi University recorded PM2.5 of 309, at IGI Airport T3 the PM2.5 was 302. Other affected areas were IIT, Mathura Road and Chandini Chowk.

The Air Quality Index in Noida was better than Delhi and remained in the “poor” category with PM2.5 of 297, SAFAR added.

Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast strong surface winds during the day today.
