Srinagar, Nov 21(NVI): Cracking a whip on illegal extraction and transportation of minerals, Police seized two JCBs and five tippers, besides arrests seven drivers in Sopore.
A Police team of Police Station Bomai headed by SHO Police Station Bomai initiated the action under the supervision of SDPO Sopore Shri. Sarfaraz Bashir-JKPS and seized seven vehicles (2 JCBs and 5 tippers) besides, arrested seven drivers involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals.
The accused drivers have been identified as Aabid Manzoor Khan son of Manzoor Ahmad Khan, Muzafar Ahmad Lone son of Mohammad Sultan Lone, Abdul Rashid Lone son of Mohammad Sultan Lone, Shafaq Ahmad Lone son of Abdul Rahim Lone, Aijaz Ahmad Tantray son of Abdul Hameed Tantray all residents of Tujjer Sharief, Ishfaq Ahmad Mir son of Mohammad Abdullah Mir resident of Hardu Shiva and Sheikh Imad son of Abdul Majeed Sheikh resident of Seeloo.
Accordingly, cases under relevant sections of law have been registered in Police Station Bomai and further investigation have been taken up.
Persons found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt as per law. Community members are appealed to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with their concerned police units. (News Vibes of India)
