Srinagar, Nov 27 (NVI): Speaker of the J&K Legislative Assembly Abdur Rahim Rather today said that future course on the breach of privilege motion against PDP MLA Waheed Parra will be decided once the PDP legislator will submit his response.
Parra has been given a week’s time to submit a response to the motion filed against him by National Conference MLA Nazir Gurezi.
Gurezi alleged that Parra made false accusations and derogatory comments against him during a speech on November 8, 2024 during of the Motion of Thanks to the Lieutenant Governor’s Address.
Speaker Abdur Rahim Rather told NVI that Parra’s response would be reviewed before any further steps are taken. The PDP legislator had accused Gurezi of calling Jamaat-e-Islami members as traitors, an allegation, outrightly rejected by NC legislator. The motion highlights the increasing political tensions within the J&K legislature, where allegations and counter-allegations have become a routine affair. (News Vibes of India)
