Srinagar, Dec 01(NVI): As Valley braces for a challenging winter under the influence of La Niña, Divisional Commissioner (Div Com) Kashmir V.K. Bidhuri today assured an improved power supply and fewer outages, adding that the administration was fully aware of La Nina impact.
La Niña, a global weather phenomenon, is expected to intensify cold spells and bring heavier-than-usual snowfall to the region, as per the India Meteorological Department (IMD). Recognizing these conditions early, the administration initiated extensive measures last year to ensure essential services remain intact.
“We anticipated La Niña and started preparations well in advance,” Bidhuri told reporters here, adding that the Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has implemented an efficient curtailment schedule to minimize disruptions.
Bidhuri also appealed to people for cooperation, urging them to avoid crude fixes during transformer breakdowns. With robust plans in place, the administration is optimistic about overcoming the challenges of a harsh winter while ensuring reliable services for the public.(News Vibes of India)
