New Delhi (NVI): In a case of fratricide, an Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) jawan killed five of his colleagues, before shooting himself in Kadenar in Narayanpur District of Chhattisgarh today.
According to ITBP Spokesperson Vivek Pandey, “Today at around 0900 hrs, constable Musudul Rehman of the 45 Battalion, ITBP, fired upon his own colleagues in Kadenar in Chhattisgarh leaving five dead. He later shot himself”.
The official said that the incident left two jawans injured who were being evacuated to Raipur.
The deceased have been identified as Head Constable Mahendra Singh from Bilaspur in Himachal Pradesh, Head Constable Daljit Singh from Ludhiana, Punjab, Constable Surjit Sarkar of Burdwan, West Bengal Constable Biswaroop Mahtoo from Purulia in West Bengal and Constable Bijeesh from Kozhikode, Kerala.
Constable Masudul Rahman, who fired upon his colleagues, hailed from Nadia in West Bengal.
