Srinagar, Dec 5 (NVI): Indian troops opened fire and launched a massive search operation near the Line of Control (LoC) in the Bagyaldara village of Poonch district of Jammu after suspected terrorist movement was noticed in the area.
Defence sources told NVI that the operation began early this morning when an attempt by terrorists to infiltrate across the heavily guarded LoC was sensed.
In response, the Army initiated a precautionary action, firing on the suspected movement to neutralize the potential threat.
Following the gunfire exchange, a massive cordon-and-search operation was launched in the surrounding areas. Armed personnel and local security forces have been deployed to thoroughly comb the region, which is known for its rugged terrain and dense vegetation, making it an ideal route for infiltration attempts.
The village of Bagyaldara, located in close proximity to the LoC, has been a hotspot for similar operations in the past. The Army has blocked all access points and is conducting house-to-house searches to ensure the militants do not evade capture. Civilian movement in and around the area has been restricted and residents have been advised to stay indoors for their safety. (NVI)
The security forces are maintaining a heightened state of alert in the region as they continue to monitor the situation. There has been no immediate confirmation of casualties or the outcome of the operation, and authorities have urged the public to remain vigilant-(News Vibes of India)
