Srinagar, Dec 05 (NVI): A two-day training programme on the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act was inaugurated today at the Police Control Room (PCR) in Srinagar.
The event, organized by the Zonal Police Headquarters (ZPHQ) Kashmir in collaboration with the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), Jammu & Kashmir, was kickstarted by IGP Kashmir, V.K Birdi (IPS).
During his inaugural address, IGP Kashmir, VK Birdi highlighted the critical role of enforcing the NDPS Act in addressing the rising challenges of drug abuse and illicit trafficking in the region. He stressed the importance of specialized training for officers to enhance their investigative skills, awareness, and ability to implement actionable strategies in combating the drug menace.
Raj Kumar Shah, Superintendent of NCB Jammu, led the NCB team and provided detailed insights into investigative procedures related to NDPS cases. The training aims to empower law enforcement officers with practical knowledge and tools to strengthen their response to drug-related issues.
The two-day programme includes interactive sessions, discussions, and hands-on training, marking a significant step towards curbing drug abuse and trafficking in Jammu and Kashmir.(News Vibes of India)
