Srinagar, Jan 16 (NVI): Train services along the Banihal-Budgam rail section have been suspended due to fresh snowfall across the Kashmir Valley, officials confirmed today.

An official from the railway department stated that heavy snowfall in several areas has rendered the tracks unsafe for operation. “The train service will remain suspended for the day as a precautionary measure,” the official said, adding that efforts are underway to clear the tracks of snow.

The resumption of services will depend on the clearance of the rail tracks and improved weather conditions. This precautionary step is part of the region’s standard protocol to ensure the safety of passengers during adverse weather conditions.

The suspension comes amid widespread snowfall in the Valley, with weather forecasts predicting more snow in the coming days. Residents and commuters relying on train services are advised to stay updated through official channels for further announcements.(News Vibes of India)
