Srinagar, Aug 28 (NVI) Even as Operation Sindoor is on ‘pause’, Pakistan Army continues its attempts to push terrorists into the Kashmir Valley to cause bloodshed and one such fresh bid was foiled by the Indian forces today by killing 2 heavily-armed infiltrators.
The Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP), in a joint operation, intercepted and neutralised two terrorists in an encounter in the Gurez sector of the Line of Control (LoC) in Bandipora district of Kashmir.
The operation, based on specific intelligence input, was carried out near Naushehra Naar, with the alert troops engaging a group of terrorists attempting to sneak into Indian territory.
“Based on intelligence provided by JKP regarding likely infiltration attempt, a joint operation was launched by Indian Army and @JmuKmrPolice in Gurez Sector. Alert troops spotted suspicious activity and challenged, which resulted in terrorists opening indiscriminate fire,” said a post on X handle of Indian Army’s Srinagar-based Chinar Corps.
“Troops responded with effective fire, neutralising two terrorists,” it said, adding the operation was in progress.
This aborted attempt indicates that the Pakistan Army has not stopped efforts to push heavily-armed terrorists into Kashmir Valley to cause bloodshed and disturb peace. (NVI)
