Peshawar, Nov 29 (NVI) Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) tonight claimed to have killed and injured at least 22 Pakistani soldiers and affiliated militia persons in its 10 operations across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province of Pakistan.
These actions were carried out under TTP’s ‘Operation Al-Khandaq’ which is underway since the last two years against the Pakistani military and affiliated agencies.
Of the 10 attacks, 4 were carried out in South Waziristan district, 2 in Lakki Marwat, and one each in Bajaur, Khyber, North Waziristan and Tank, TTP spokesman Muhammad Khorasani said in a statement to NVI.
Giving details, he said in South Waziristan, a military officer was killed in an attack on a post which has been under siege of the TTP for the last several days in Sarki Khel area of Azam Warsak.
Eight more military officers were killed in an attack on a military convoy that was coming to end the siege, the TTP spokesman said.
Rest of the soldiers fled from the spot, leaving behind their slain colleagues, he said.
In North Waziristan, 10 military personnel were killed and injured in an ambush on three army vehicles in Abelanka in Dosli, the spokesman said.
TTP fighters also ambushed the personnel of a pro-government militia riding motorcycles near the Baloch check post in Tank City Bazaar, in which several were killed and injured, he said.
In Lakki Marwat, an activist of the so-called ‘nominal peace committee’, which carries out dirty tasks of the Pakistani military, was killed in a targeted attack in Isak Khel.
In Naurang, a military convoy was ambushed in Sara Darga area, the spokesman said, adding there is possibility of casualties in the attack.
In Bajaur district, an Army machine gunner Nazar Hussain was targeted and killed by the TTP in Malkana Dombki on the instructions of the TIA.
In Khyber district, a soldier was killed in a sniper attack on a military post in Jamrud. (NVI)
