New Delhi, Jan 15 (NVI) In a critical revelation, Pakistan-based terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) is building massive covert water-based terror capabilities with the support of Pakistani military for possible use in infiltration or maritime attacks.
According to intelligence inputs, LeT terrorists are being given training to operate in water bodies, like rivers, canals, lakes, coastal places and large pools.
These kind of training activities have been witnessed at various places in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (POJK).
The training courses include swimming, under water operations, scuba diving and driving of speed rubber boats which can be operated in fast-flowing rivers.
For these activities, several large pools, rivers, canals, lakes, and coastal zones are being used.
The fact that these are LeT training centres has been established by the visual presence of hardcore terrorist commanders of LeT Rizwan Haniz and Amir Zia.
Such activities are being performed under the false garb of rescue operations in water bodies but the nature of training makes it clear that it is for preparing the cadres for combat, infiltration or maritime attacks.
According to sources, LeT has trained so many cadres in scuba diving and other maritime activities, the number of which is more than any other terror outfit in Asia or may be even in the world. (NVI)
