TTP: 11 attacks on Pakistani military, caused casualties in Khyber

Peshawar, Jan 15 (NVI) Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) today said it carried out 11 attacks on Pakistani forces at various places in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province, causing human casualties and destruction of military property.

In a statement, TTP said 4 “operations” were carried out by it in Tank district, 3 in Dera Ismail Khan, and one each in Khyber, Mohmand, North Waziristan and Kohat.

In Tank tehsil in Tank district, it said the TTP cadres foiled an attempt by the Pakistan Army to raid its hideout.

“During the operation, the (Pakistan) army destroyed a mosque and several homes of companions (TTP operatives),” the  statement said.

The TTP also killed a soldier in a sniper attack in Kot Azam area of Gomal in Tank district, it said.

In Dera Ismail Khan, a sniper attack was carried out on a military camp in Kalachi area, in which two security cameras were destroyed, it said.

Another sniper attack was carried out at a post in Kalachi area, in which one soldier was injured.

The TTP also seized supplies meant for a military post at Kidi Shumozai in Proa in Dera Ismail Khan, it said.

In Khyber district, a Pakistani soldier was killed and two injured in an ambush on military vehicle carrying water to an army post in Sur Ghar in Bara, it said.

In Mohmand district, one soldier was injured in a sniper attack by TTP on a post of paramilitary Frontier Corps in Matei in Khwezoo Baizai, the statement said.

A coordinated attack was also carried out by the TTP on a Pakistan army position in Koli Khel Mari Khel area of Mirali in North Waziristan, it said, adding there is a strong possibility of  casualties and injuries among the soldiers.

A targeted attack was also carried out in Sheraki area of Darra Adam Khel of Kohat Province in which a member of a militia associated with the Pakistani military was killed and two were injured. (NVI)
