Poonch Mar 07 (NVI) : A live mortar shell was safely defused by security forces in a forward village near the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday, officials said.
An official told the news agency NVI that a border resident spotted the mortar shell lying in a secluded area of Brari village in the Sawjian sector and immediately alerted the Army unit and the local police post.
Following the information, a bomb disposal squad rushed to the spot and successfully defused the mortar shell without causing any damage, the official said.(NVI)
