New Delhi, Mar 12 (NVI): Union Health Minister and Leader of the House in Rajya Sabha, Jagat Prakash Nadda, on Thursday strongly condemned the attack on National Conference president and former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Dr Farooq Abdullah.

Addressing the Upper House, as per news Vibes of India (NVI), Nadda termed the incident a “matter of grave concern” and assured that the government is taking the matter seriously. He said the accused, who is already in custody, will be thoroughly investigated, including his plans and motives, to prevent such incidents in the future.

Nadda emphasized that such attacks should not be politicized. “It is not right to look at everything from a political point of view and give it a political angle,” he said, adding that allegations blaming the government for the attack are baseless.

He further stated that the government remains committed to ensuring the protection and safety of senior leaders as well as all citizens, and necessary measures will be taken to strengthen security protocols.

The minister also referred to past incidents in Jammu and Kashmir, stressing that the government is focused on maintaining law, order and safety, and that political speculation should not overshadow the seriousness of such events. (NVI)
