Banihal Mar 23 (NVI) : A minor boy was apprehended for allegedly stabbing two persons with a sharp-edged weapon at the parking area of the Government Railway Police (GRP) station in Banihal, Sunday late evening.
The incident occurred in the evening when the 16-year-old, a resident of Anantnag, allegedly attacked Radif Subzar of Qazigund and Altaf Ahmad Khan of Kaskoot, Banihal, with a knife, causing injuries to both, they said.
The injured sustained stab wounds in the abdomen and were rushed to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Banihal for treatment. While Subzar was treated and is stated to be stable, Khan was referred to Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag for specialised care, officials said.
The accused was apprehended on the spot and taken to GRP police station Banihal. During preliminary questioning, he reportedly told police that he had boarded a Baramulla-Sangaldan train from Anantnag railway station and got down at Banihal.
A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and further investigation is underway, police said.(NVI)
