Anantnag, Mar 23 (NVI): Police in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag district have registered an FIR against a hotel in Pahalgam for allegedly concealing the stay of foreign nationals and violating mandatory reporting norms.

During a routine check in the Dehwatoo area, police found that 23 foreign nationals, including 19 British citizens, had checked into Hotel Misty Mountains Laddi on the evening of March 22, they said.

The hotel management failed to inform Police Station Pahalgam about the guests and did not submit the mandatory Form ‘C’, in violation of provisions under the Foreigners and Immigration Act, 2025, officials said, adding that it compromised prescribed security protocols.

An FIR (No. 18/2026) has been registered at Police Station Pahalgam under relevant sections of the law, and an investigation is underway.

Police have urged all hotel operators in the district to strictly adhere to legal requirements regarding the reporting of foreign guests.(NVI)
