Srinagar, Mar 23 (NVI) : Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Anshul Garg on Monday said there is no shortage of fuel or LPG in the Valley, assuring that adequate stocks are available and the situation is being closely monitored.

Talking to media in Srinagar, Garg said domestic LPG supplies are running smoothly, with current stock levels sufficient for around 10 to 15 days. “The stock position is dynamic, but at present we have sufficient availability. Continuous monitoring is being carried out at both divisional and district levels to ensure there is no disruption,” he said.

He added that petrol and diesel supplies are also stable, with district-level committees keeping a close watch on oil marketing companies to prevent hoarding, black marketing, or overpricing.

Garg said control rooms at both district and divisional levels are actively monitoring supply and distribution. The Food and Civil Supplies Department is generating daily centralised reports, which are being reviewed regularly to avoid any inconvenience to the public.

Addressing complaints about delays in LPG deliveries, he said such issues are being resolved on a case-to-case basis by Deputy Commissioners and concerned departments. “Teams on the ground are actively working to ensure timely delivery,” he said.

Urging people not to panic, the Divisional Commissioner advised the public to rely only on official information and avoid rumours. “There is no need to believe in unverified reports. The government is committed to ensuring uninterrupted supply,” he added.

On students from Jammu and Kashmir stranded in Iran, Garg said both the Government of India and the Union Territory administration are making sustained efforts for their safe return. He said dedicated helplines have been set up and regular updates are being shared with families.

“The Chief Minister has assured all possible support. Our priority is to ensure that all students return safely at the earliest,” he said, adding that coordination between authorities and families has improved.

He reiterated that the overall situation is under close watch and necessary measures are being taken on priority.(NVI)
