Baramulla, Mar 25 (NVI): A shopkeeper was injured after a battery explosion in the Nanak Bhawan area of Baramulla late Tuesday night.
The incident occurred in a busy market area, causing panic among locals and nearby traders.
Soon after the blast, teams from the Army’s 46 Rashtriya Rifles, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and Fire and Emergency Services rushed to the spot to assess the situation and secure the area.
The injured shopkeeper was evacuated and shifted to Government Medical College (GMC) Baramulla for treatment, where his condition is being monitored, officials said.
A preliminary investigation has been initiated to determine the exact cause of the explosion. Initial reports suggest a possible battery malfunction, though authorities said the cause is yet to be officially confirmed.
No other injuries or damage to nearby shops were immediately reported, They added.(NVI)
