Rajouri, Mar 29 (NVI): A balloon resembling an aircraft and bearing markings of “SGA” linked to Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) was recovered from Hanjna village in Nowshera tehsil of Rajouri district on Sunday, triggering alertness among local authorities.

Officals said the object was first spotted by local residents in the area, who promptly informed the concerned authorities. Upon receiving the information, police and other security agencies reached and secured the object.

Preliminary examination suggests that the item is an aeroplane-shaped balloon; however, officials are not ruling out any possibility at this stage. The recovered object has been taken into custody for further inspection and analysis.

Authorities stated that standard operating procedures are being followed to ascertain the origin and intent behind the object. Security agencies are also assessing whether the balloon drifted across inadvertently or was deliberately released.
