Two BSF Men Injured in Attack During Operation at Suspected Drug Hub in Samba

Jammu, Mar 30 (NVI): Two Border Security Force (BSF) personnel were injured after being allegedly attacked by locals during a search operation in Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday, officials said.

The incident occurred in the Gujjar Basti area of Supwal, which was being raided following inputs about suspected drug-related activities.

An Inspector and a Sub-Inspector of the force had gone to conduct the operation when a group of local residents confronted and attacked them, resulting in injuries to both personnel, officials said.

The injured, identified as Inspector Imtiaz and Sub-Inspector Devender, were shifted to a nearby medical facility for treatment.

Officials said the personnel were reportedly not in uniform at the time of the operation.

Authorities have taken cognisance of the incident, and further investigation is underway, they added.(NVI)
