Srinagar, Apr 3 (NVI): Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday ordered a magisterial inquiry into the killing of an alleged terrorist during an encounter in the Arhama area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district, officials said.
Officials said the Lieutenant Governor has directed that the probe be conducted in a thorough and impartial manner to ascertain the facts and circumstances surrounding the incident.
The District Magistrate of Ganderbal district has been asked for a detailed inquiry into the encounter.
Earlier this week, the Indian Army said it killed a terrorist in an encounter in Araham area of Ganderbal district in Central Kashmir.
Afterwards, some sections raised questions over the incident, claiming that the person, identified as Raashid Ahmad Mughal, son of late Gull Zaman Mughal, was not a terrorist.
The District Magistrate has been instructed to complete the probe within seven days and submit the report to the Home Department, officials added.(NVI)
