Anantnag, Apr 22 (NVI): The District Administration Anantnag has announced a Civil Defence Air Raid Blackout Mock Drill to be conducted on April 23 as part of emergency preparedness and safety training.
An official public notice issued by the Deputy Commissioner (District Magistrate) Anantnag, the drill will begin at 3:30 PM, followed by a blackout exercise from 8:00 PM to 8:10 PM across the district.
The exercise aims to familiarize citizens with emergency response protocols during blackout or crisis situations and assess the readiness of both the public and the administration.
Authorities have advised residents to switch off all lights and sources of illumination immediately after the siren at 8:00 PM, draw curtains to prevent light leakage, and remain calm as the drill is not a real emergency.
People have also been asked to inform elderly persons, children, and those with health concerns in advance to avoid panic. All emergency and critical services will remain operational during the exercise.(NVI)
