Anantnag, Apr 25 (NVI): Four persons were arrested following a vandalism and assault incident inside Government Medical College Anantnag on Friday evening.
A group allegedly created a disturbance within the hospital premises, damaged property and assaulted on-duty medical staff, they said.
Police have registered FIR No. 118 under relevant sections of law and launched an investigation to identify all those involved and ascertain the circumstances behind the incident.
So far, four accused have been taken into custody, while efforts are underway to trace others allegedly involved, officials added.
The unrest reportedly erupted after a family alleged that their mother died due to medical negligence at the hospital, triggering outrage.
The family has appealed to Sakina Itoo and Omar Abdullah to order a high-level probe and ensure accountability if negligence is found.(NVI)
